Welcome to Applegarth
Applegarth is a lovely 150 year old former school teacher's house in a quiet spot in Grosmont village and ideal for visiting the moors and coast.
We are close to the Yorkshire Moors and Heartbeat Goathland. Whitby is a short drive or train journey away (8 miles), and Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are nearby.
There is a coffee shop, pub and locally-run Co-Op all within 100metres. The North Yorks Moors Railway (steam) runs near to the cottage, the station and the engine sheds are close by.
The fully-renovated cottage sleeps 4 plus two children and sits in its own pretty garden. There are fantastic country walks from the cottage.

Updates
We are David and Julia, we bought Applegarth after we’d had great holidays in the cottage over the years and have fond memories of our times there. We stay regularly ourselves. Lots of improvements since we took over:- Now with king sized bed in the double, bedrooms redecorated
- Updated and modernised main bathroom
- Indoor cloakroom/toilet - replacing the old outside loo
- Modern controllable electric heating - no more 'night storage'
- New carpets, redecoration, new pillows and bedlinen.
- Work to repair winter storm damage with a new fence along the riverbank.
- In addition we now have a stair gate, travel cot and high chair for small visitors.
